A location steps from great shopping and affordable rates make this three-story building one of the city's best-value pension-style hotels. The guest rooms are clean, if a bit basic, but the 1930s building, with its wide corridors, bright skylights, and mahogany staircase, has old-world charm. small but cozy
February 22, 2013The barclay was a good hotel for someone who did not want to spend a lot of time in their hotel. The service was a little slow but they did let us leave our bags once we checked out til our flight left. It was decent but very small

Very good for the money!
February 22, 2013I've stayed for 5 days in The Barclay at Robson and was surprised what i got for the money. Clean room, bed and shower, staff is friendly and helpfull. Your in the middle of shops and very close to Stanley Park, the Waterfront etc. Maybe on the downside is the organisation of the bathroom and the tv in room i was in (222). Breakfast was ok for the money. Will be back there next year.

Pros: Clean, no frills accommodations for a good price, great for the budget traveller. My room had its own refrigerator, which was great! Good location if you like shopping and people watching. Cable TV. Cons: No coffee maker or blowdryer, and no closet to hang clothes, just a dresser and some wall hooks with hangers attached. There is no elevator.
