Originally opened as a pool hall, Bar Italia has been a staple in Little Italy for almost 50 years. While the restaurant has grown and changed over the years, the menu still offers many of the same Classic Paninis and Insalatas that have brought loyal customers... more
A landmark of Little Italy since 1987, "the chic" Bar Italia (according to the New York Times) is a place for the best in fine dining, a casual pasta and a salad, outstanding wines by the glass and a diverse menu featuring classic Italian cuisine.
There’s also a lot of excitement upstairs at Bar Italia, overlooking College Street in one of Toronto's most colorful cityscapes,... more

Great place to hang out in little italy. They also have great live music on the weekends.
I had the 'pleasure ' of dealing with sara. Rude and sarcastic! place is great but she is a real piece of work...
Consistency is a big thing and when it comes to the food at Bar Italia, its fresh, great looking ingredients, tasty and very affordable. I also find the service to be casual/professional, whether with a group of friends or just sitting at the bar by myself. When in season, the patio is also great to sit back and just watch the world go by as some Italian old school classics filter through the... more
A solid choice if you are in the area. It's a large restaurant that can definitely hold a big group. There is also a decent size patio in front.
Was here for lunch and our server was so nice and friendly. The lunch menu is kinda disappointing in terms of selections - a few apps, and then lots of salads and sandwiches. There is only a pasta of the day and no pizzas. The wine/beer list is pretty... more
We often go here but I have to say, last nights service was horrible. The restaurant was virtually empty - the server forgot to order two appetizers and one of our mains - I actually told him he was screwing up - then they started to trip over each other - but the experience was spoiled. Food was good, but not good enough to return there. They need to turn up their game and get better staff.
A longtime staple on College Street. The image and interior are upscale, but the attitude is refreshingly low-key. Main floor resto features and interesting Italian menu and a bustling bar, while upstairs, an intimate lounge hosts a DJ Fridays and live music on Saturdays. Lunch, dinner, late-night daily; weekend brunch. Casual. Entrees: $14-$26. AE, MC, V.
Nestled amongst the jumpin’ College Street restaurant drag, Bar Italia, at seven years old, has almost achieved granddaddy status on this tree-lined and festive strip that welcomes families and loungers. Italian cuisine is ’90s style with entrees changing all the time. Count on the sandwiches. The second floor rocks with live jazz, and R&B.
