A great and important historical site. Sir Frederick Banting's home, hence the birthplace of insulin and a cure for diabetes. A great cause and monument in itself. Check out the statue! Why the flame? It will burn until a cure is found. The Queen Mother herself was here for its lighting. Is that not enough for a visit!
I took my 6-year-old daughter here and we really enjoyed learning about the discovery of insulin and the lives of the men who discovered it. We got a personal tour from a very well-informed student, and learned lots.
I wouldn't recommend it with younger kids, as it's not aimed at children and there's not much to interest them.

This is the house where Sir Frederick Banting, discovered Insulin as a medicine for diabetes. The home is now transformed into a house museum and also features the office of Canadian Diabetes Association. For details, check website.
