I had a similar issue with this place. They worked on my starter a year ago. My tranny recently died, which is not normal at 130,000kms on a Golf (standard transmission). I took it to another shop, and when they opened it up it was obvious that something's been dropped in, maybe a bolt. Since my starter is the only thing that's been worked on that could have effected the tranny, i'm pretty sure that's the culprit.
Also, I got my water pump/timing belt replaced from them 2 years ago and found out that it's leaking.
I brought my car, a 330Xi, for a simple tune up. They call me not long after asking an approval for changing some suspension element and the gasket on the cam lid for avout $1800. Later on, I recevied another call telling me the engine had no compression on one cylinder...
I got up set and tell them not to touch my car anymore. I moved the car to the dealer requesting a second opinion. They found a 10 mm nut in the cylinder!!!
I beleive this is the kind of thing they do on a regular basis to get more money from the customers...
I`m now in the process of bringing them to court to recover my lost.
I`m looking for other people with a similar problem.
