Quality exhibits in intimate setting

The August exhibit shows many of the gallery's Japanese woodblock prints, focusing in this show on War and Disaster. The war is the Russo-Japanese war of 1904 and the Disaster is the earthquake and tsunami of 1894. They are spectacular large prints.

Not worth the effort

The AGGV has little to offer and the gallery rotates it's collection very infrequently. If you like Asian art and artifacts, there's something here for you, but there's rarely any world-class shows. The Art Gallery of Greater Victoria isn't located near most shops and hotels, but turned out to be the highlight of this most recent trip.
