Though established in the late 1700s, this coach-house inn burned down during the War of 1812 and was rebuilt in 1816. (Another casualty of that war, Capt. The Olde Angel Inn is the oldest pub in Canada and more authentic than an English pub in England, particularly for it being built by the British during the war of 1812 era. A British soldier's ghost lives in the basement which makes this place that more exciting.

Every time I am in NOTL I make a point of stopping in here at least once. The staff may not always be on their toes, but they are courteous and happy to appease. The food is like gourmet English pub fare. If you are a chocoholic like me, you'll want to try their brownie which is served hot with a nice scoop of vanilla ice cream. This is a must try location.
Great Food.. but it needs to be appreciated
It was a busy Saturday noon time lunch for 8 of us.
We got seated in good time.
Venue was a historic building that was built back up after it was burned down in the war in 1800's. It felt like a real english/irish pub.. low ceilings, dark and very close quartered.
