Though established in the late 1700s, this coach-house inn burned down during the War of 1812 and was rebuilt in 1816. (Another casualty of that war, Capt. Colin Swayze, is believed to haunt the inn.) It’s a pretty authentic pub experience, apart from the table service. Friendly, olde world, small but well chosen list of local craft beer and huge helpings of well prepared pub favourites.
Great pub to go to for a night out. Live music, lots of taps, fun fun fun !!!! Within walking distance of pretty much every other pub and hotel in town.
The Olde Angel Inn is the oldest pub in Canada and more authentic than an English pub in England, particularly for it being built by the British during the war of 1812 era. A British soldier's ghost lives in the basement which makes this place that more exciting.
What I particularly enjoyed about this place was their authentic food. Their bangers and mash and the meatloaf Wellington was great...
