Amelio's is just the best pizza in Montreal.
Great food, always fresh and affortable!
See you there! :)
A chaque fois que j'ai le goût d'une pizza végétarienne, je commande de Amelio's. C'est comme une ratatouille sur une pizza avec le fromage abondant en plus.
Heaping bowls of homemade pasta at a steal! Oven-baked pizza so good you wouldn't mind having its hot, cheezy goodness stuck to the roof of your mouth. Yah, the joint looks a little shabby, it's packed with students and you've gotta bring your own booze. Suck it up and suck back the green spaghetti with meatsauce. Add an order of garlic bread, a slice of apple pie served with sharp cheddar and... more
This is not your traditional Italian pizza house. More like 'New York' style being thick crust and lots of doe. If you like that, it's decent. Small size is enough for one person. French Onion Soup was standard good. Manicotti was decent. The complimentary salad was meh. There was not anything that stood out.
The place is small and loud.... more
It is always packed and it is always good. This is not fancy food but honest, well prepared and well priced pasta and pizza. Since you can bring your own wine, you can have a very pleasant diner for under $30...for two!!!
All the friends and family who have experienced Amelios once have made the restaurant a regular outing.
When my husband and I showed up at 201 Milton, we saw an old building with graffiti. When I looked in, I saw a cute little restaurant with lots of people. So we tried it out and had one of the best Italian meals we have ever had in a restaurant. I ordered the tortellini, it was excellent, but my... more
This is a classic McGill student & alumni hangout... but you gotta try this little restaurant off the beaten path.
Decor is your classic pizzeria joint with little cafe style tables, exposed brick walls and hardwood flooring nicely aged. The noise level raises as the evening goes on since it's a tight little space that seats no more than 40-50 people at a time.
It's got some amazing pizza... more
Pizzas are delicious, pasta dishes are very good. Rapid service, though yes, the servers will tell you the brothers are bastards to work for (hi, Caibh + Barb). The food is very good considering the fast turnaround and the quality doesn't waver. They do it fast and right. The prices have been creeping upward and the pizzas are not cheap anymore but you will not find comparable quality... more
Just to let people know that the management there verbally absuses their servers regularly. and they're not subtle about it.
Affordably, fabulously flavorful and eminently satisfying. Amelio's is a tried-and-true standby in the McGill area, serving up great thick-crusted pizzas and pastas. It's not a fancy spot for a romantic dinner – this is hearty food in a super-casual atmosphere. Understandably, students make up a large percentage of the clientele, but the place is worth checking out even if you're a PhD.
Beau petit restaurant familial. Leur pizza est la meilleure en ville
