The two-level space is a clean treatise on the joys of craft beer with a well-pedigreed chef-Greg Armstrong, formerly of Habit Lounge-backing it up (try his smoked trout pâté and his mountainous, beer-friendly juicy beast of a burger spiced with smoked onion mayo). There are 47 beers on offer, half local craft beers on tap. Prices can be as low as $3 for a small glass and as high as $25 for... more
This high-end, trendy restaurant/bar pours a huge selection of craft beers to complement its modern-British-pub-style yet locally sourced menu. The room tends toward a revelrous crowd that amplifies as the night goes on. Located on the eastern edge of Gastown.
Come for Dinner and Stay for a Drink
The Alibi Room is a place guests come to enjoy dinner, but stay for a casual and fun night in the downstairs lounge. With its large expansive dining tables and room for more than 200 in the main floor dining room, the restaurant specializes in accommodating big groups. After dinner guests are always invited to retire to the downstairs lounge for a drink... more
Love the decor and the vibe this place gives off. People are really laid back and service is friendly. Food wise, there's lot of options, but nothing too special. I think people mostly like the open atmosphere and the drink/beer selection.
Parking outside is mostly metered street parking. Bathroom is okay clean and can be a bit awkward having to go through the bottom floor and through a... more
Atmosphere- decor was awesome, was well put together and great use of space. However it was incredibly loud. We sat for dinner at a small low table with just the 2 of us. I had to yell and lean in the whole time.
Dinner - mehhh i got a steak that was supposed to have sprouts, carrots and potatoes. There was one sliver of a carrot and maybe 2 sprouts. The steak itself was good though
the atmosphere is a cross between the summer camp dining hall and a great minimalist designers dining room. Lots of interesting architectural accents. The long tables are great if your meeting a group of friends. If not - they make for an interesting place to meet new people. The food is delicious - nice blending of flavours and has always arrived hot. The menu always has something for both... more
This place was good for a bit in the summer but I think it is really going down.
Trendy spot serves dishes inspired by the modern English tavern. Menu changes seasonally, but the home-made beef burger is always a favourite. Enjoy a martini or one of the 44 beers on tap either upstairs or down. $-$$. D (daily), brunch (Sa-Su).
The Alibi Room calls itself a modern tavern, which is a mix of old style comforts with modern facilities. The well stocked bar has a wide variety of beers, both local and imported. With a lip smacking menu and generous portions, Alibi Room definitely figures on the top list of many serious foodies and beer lovers!
