Trades out $2 - 2.5 M for Construction on School

Diamond ROC Interiors, a steel stud framing/drywall company in Calgary has been constructing the interior walls and ceilings at the Airdrie Koinonia Christian School - AKCS located at 77 Gateway Drive NE Airdrie, Alberta since February 2013. AKCS is a private christian school, size of 55,000 SF, with 274 students, that currently are scattered in 7 different locations throughout Airdrie. The general contractor J.D.S Construction at 44 Gateway Dr. NE has not paid us since September 2013, as well as 11 other trades. We have completed 85% of our contract, however have been paid for only 50%. Paul Wolff, the owner of JDS Construction has told us he has not been paid enough to pay the trades that have worked hard all year on the Christian school. There is $2 - $2.5 M owed to the 12 trades, and the school has been auditing J.D.S Construction for over a month now. All of us trades desperately need our money!! We have invested a lot of money to pay for our crew and materials for the Christian School. We got through Christmas with a heavy heart; not being paid for 35% of our work limits the size of bids we can entertain. We already have had to pass on another large project this year. As a family owned and operated company this impacts our livelihood adversely to say it mildly. We need to be paid!!!! As eager as the students and administration are for the school doors to open is slight in comparison to how eager all of us trades are to be compensated!!
