It's a bit out of the way, about 5 minutes east of downtown by car, but if you're a nature lover, you'll love discovering this .4-hectare (1-acre) jewel box of a garden and the romantic story behind its creation. A good alternative to the commercial gardens made all the more enjoyable by the house that is converted to a tea house. Only about 10 min by bus from downtown so an easy trip.

What a love story

This is an extraordinary garden, created by a romantic couple who devoted their lives to this beautiful setting. Absolutely delightful!

The Abkhazi Garden is the perfect venture away from the overcrowded cities. The heritage garden was created by the prince and princess of Abkhazi. The interesting display of plants in the garden adds to its pristine beauty. New and more species of plants are bred and added seasonally to enhance the appearance of the site. The park is accentuated with an oak meadow and magnificent vistas to... more
