Strongly caution against using A Leg Up services
During the times that A Leg Up has walked him, my dog has had fleas, kennel cough and fleas again. Most of my friends do not have dogs and I do not take him to dog parks very often. I will give A Leg Up the benefit of the doubt as it is impossible to determine where he contracted these health issues; however, prior to hiring A Leg Up we never had an issue in this regard.
He has also gone without being walked when he was supposed too (they show up earlier or after the window period that they agree to or sometimes not at all), walks that were drastically shorter than what they should be (when the weather is fine, and often they don't mention that the walks were cut short), there have been issues with "lost" keys (my dog went without while I was at work on those days), they never refill his food or water bowls during the day (despite their notes saying that they have) and on occasion I have been told by my neighbours that the dog walker is quite aggressive with my dog.
A Leg Up gives you a false sense of security by providing you with a binder, and a special note-book for daily reports/status updates. While on the surface this is very comforting, they don't provide the service they claim to. I don't have very high-standards, I'm just looking for someone to walk my dog at lunch while I am at work so that he can go to the bathroom and burn off some steam. I would strongly caution against using A Leg Up services for any of your pets. It truly is not worth the money, and your pet will not receive the level of care they deserve.

The owner of 'A Leg Up' pet services, called us personally to apologize for any errors made or disatisfaction resulting from their services and made a partial refund and offer of a free pet care service. We were satisfied that his apology was sincere and his refund, as well as an offer to care for our cat in the future at no charge, was a genuine attempt to keep our business in the future.

My husband and I used a pet/ house sitting service in Toronto called "One leg up" for the first time recently. We have a cat and an aquarium. Amazing service!
October 19, 2010Me an my wife were so happy to find this company! They have been a such a lifesaver when it come to Charlie. Charlie has been such a happy and of course tired pup when he comes home from the walks. Everyone has been so nice and accommodating, I would recommend them to anyone who is in need of a great service for their pup!
